I humbly realize that I am a far cry
From evolved , when I examine — a fly!
He has , out of all proportion to his size,
Three simple and two huge compound eyes!
He can recognize danger in any guise,
Spot from afar any maggoty prize,
Evade my feeble attempts to surprise
Him! If his tiny brain can process
So much data so quick;
Why is my much larger brain
So sluggish and thick?
