The Pride Of the Rhinoceros

He’s admittedly massive, though generally passive;

And his armoured hide and menacing stride,

Were enough to keep his enemies afraid.

Yet, dissatisfied was his arrogant pride

I think that’s what led him to decide-

To flaunt on his nose, a horn that men suppose-

To have aphrodisiac powers

So now, the poor rhino cowers

At the sounds of the poachers – the drums of their beaters

As on the thin edge of extinction he teeters!
