I am a streak of light across your sky,
My praise your poet and prophet sing:
While I roller-coaster my way around your sun,
They believe I foretell the death of a king.
My tail streams out in the solar wind
I exult in my fame, in the sunlight , glow.
But soon, my orbit catapults me out-
Nameless, between the stars , I must go.
Hunkered-down, cold, dim and frozen stiff,
I think long, slow thoughts of “What if–
I join a family of planets around a sun,
Could I settle down?
Would I miss having the free run of the universe?
Could I have as much fun?”
