Krishna

Like children in kindergarten drawing stick-figures,

They sculpted His likeness in stone–

And Krishna laughed!

They clothed him in silk, fed him with ghee,

And sang him to sleep with a sweet lullaby,

And Krishna laughed!

Though blessed with Life, with each waking breath:

They feared their loss of identity in Death!

And Krishna laughed!

For at the end, their souls,  unconfined,

Joyously merge with Him-, bliss divine!

And so Krishna laughs!
